Who We Are
Matthew R. Gibbons, Chairman/CEO
Matthew R. Gibbons, after working for his father at Gibbons Hospitality in Whistler, BC, founded what would become The MRG Group, starting with a single location — the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver. Matt transformed that first business into the largest independent concert promoter in Canada and the largest operator of touring venues by venue count. Simultaneously, he expanded brands such as Partee Putt, Dublin Calling, and multiple country bars in Toronto and Vancouver, creating a national hospitality organization. Over the years, Matt also built and sold companies such as Northern Tickets, which he sold to Ticketfly. A hands-on leader, Matt loves working with people on the front lines, fostering a dynamic and engaged team culture.
